I regularly teach Fiddle 3 in this slot, but for this term, I’ll be teaching this course.
For students who have completed Fiddle I but have no prior music experience otherwise, and/or those who have fewer than six months’ experience and want to continue to build basic skills and confidence. Introduction to the Traditional Irish Session

All Instruments. 8 weekly sessions beginning Monday, September 22, 2025
A session (seisiún in Irish) is a gathering of musicians playing traditional tunes, often in a pub. Sessions are super fun, but they can be intimidating for the uninitiated. This ninety-minute class will serve as an introduction to sessions: what to expect, playing in a group, session etiquette, putting together sets and common tunes—but mostly it will be a slow session. We will play tunes at a slow, comfortable tempo, about half the speed (or even slower) than a traditional pub session. Level: beginner/intermediate.
